About the Commonwealth Attorney's Office
Welcome to the Official Website of the Commonwealth Attorney for the 15th Judicial Circuit. Our office prosecutes felony cases which occur in Grant, Carroll and Owen counties within the Commonwealth of Kentucky. These cases include homicide, robbery, assault, burglary, sexual assault, theft, drug crime, and others.
We take the job of felony prosecution seriously. We work to be honest, fair, and consistent in handling these cases. We uphold the law and work to protect the public and victims of crime.
The role of the prosecutor is unique. The prosecutor must see that every defendant is treated fairly and that every crime victim receives the benefits of rights guaranteed by the Kentucky Crime Victim Bill of Rights.
Likewise, the prosecutor must ensure that crime victims receive the help they need to navigate the confusion of the criminal justice system – this office actively works to keep crime victims informed and offer assistance in their time of need.
The Commonwealth Attorney
Leigh Ann Roberts was appointed by the Governor as Commonwealth Attorney for the 15th Judicial Circuit on December 13, 2021. Commonwealth Attorney Roberts has been with the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney's office since 2006 and has close to thirty (30) years of experience in Kentucky's criminal justice system. As Commonwealth Attorney for the 15th Judicial Circuit, she is responsible for the review and prosecution of felony offenses committed in Carroll, Owen, and Grant counties in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
